Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is a 636-bed multi-specialty instruction hospital located in Temple, Texas.[ane] The facility was founded in 1897, when Dr. Arthur C. Scott and Dr. Raleigh R. White, Jr.,[2] opened the Temple Sanitarium in Temple, Texas. The group do consists of over 800 physicians and scientists. Temple Sanitarium [edit]

Scott and White opened the Temple Sanitarium in 1904 to build upon a growing private practice that served railroad employees passing through Temple. That year they purchased St. Mary's Cosmic Convent and converted information technology for use equally a total-time infirmary. Organization [edit]

Following the decease of Dr. White, the partnership was inverse to Dr. Scott, Sr., his brother-in-law, Dr. Marcel West. Sherwood, and Dr. George V. Brindley, Sr. in 1917. Dr. Scott'south son, Dr. Arthur C. Scott, Jr., took over the presidency when his begetter died of a heart attack on Oct 27, 1940. On December 23, 1949, for-profit Scott & White Dispensary was separated from non-profit Scott & White Memorial Infirmary. On Baronial 15, 1950, the name was changed to Scott & White Memorial Hospital and Scott, Sherwood and Brindley Foundation. On November six, 2016, Baylor Scott & White announced that Scott & White Memorial Hospital would be renamed Scott & White Medical Centre equally part of the organization's overall rebranding due to the merger of Baylor Wellness and Scott & White.[7]

Scott & White Medical Center: Baylor Scott & White – Temple's main campus is located at 2401 Due south. 31st Street in Temple. The primary campus includes Baylor Scott & White – Temple, Baylor Scott & White Dispensary, Center for Diagnostic Medicine, Baylor Scott & White Pavilion (outpatient surgery centre, Eye Establish and Pain Clinic), Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic, Mental Wellness Clinic, Scott & White Health Plan, Medical Research Building, Medical Instruction Building and supporting labs and facilities.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Centre - Brenham: On July 1, 2010, a partnership with Trinity Wellness Services Corp was finalized making this the newest system hospital.

McLane Children's Hospital

Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center [edit]

With a generous support from the McLane family, the children's infirmary opened on October 4, 2011, at the previous site of Male monarch's Daughters Hospital. The current construction underwent renovation to accommodate a new children'south emergency section, surgery suites, and pediatric ICU. This unique institution provides admission to advance pediatric intendance to people residing between Austin and Dallas. The hospital also supports a pediatric residency program and medical student education in collaboration with Texas A&Yard Health Scientific discipline Centre College of Medicine. Future expansion plans include the structure of an outpatient belfry and a maternal-fetal hospital.

South&Westward has been involved in training of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals since its inception. Information technology serves at the main teaching hospital of Texas A&M Health Science Heart and primary rotation site for University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Temple College, and surrounding colleges. The infirmary too supports a number of post-graduate residency and fellowship programs in medicine, surgery, and pharmacy.
